Our normal understanding of the word "plastic" fails to do justice to modern plastic materials, which have very little to do with simple consumables or throwaway items. High-performance plastics such as PI (polyimide) combine the properties of a plastic with those of metal and ceramics. They offer high-grade wear resistance and excellent creep resistance, plus they do not melt. With such an excellent range of properties, they are perfect for any number of versatile applications, even under extreme ambient conditions. Short-term exposure to temperatures of up to +480 °C is possible.
