From way back to way ahead

1905 Heinrich Maag founded his fi rm “Gummi-Maag” The name is still well-known even today. The trading fi rm off ered rubber products, primarily for private customers, in all variations. It was located right in the middle of Zurich on the Bahnhofplatz. During the following years, the product range was constantly enhanced with new products, right up to becoming an industrial supplier.

1949 Sold to the Dätwyler Group in Altdorf. The company remained true to its core business and continued to expand its market position in the fi eld of rubber products. There was an actual burst of growth in the 50ies when synthetic elastomers penetrated more and more into the market.

1975 Move from Schwamendingen to today’s address in Dübendorf. The company had long since lifted its restriction to only rubber products. The variety of products forced a name change.

1983 Gummi-Maag became Maag Technic AG. The company used the name change to emphasise its general technical competence in the areas of elastomer, plastics, fl uid and drive technology, occupational safety and operating equipment, as well as its orientation towards industrial and commercial customers.

2003 Integration of Wachendorf AG into Maag Technic AG. Decision to renovate existing operations and the warehouse building and to construct a new, modern logistics centre and thus to establish an important plastic centre.

2006 The companies Maag Technic AG (CH), Maag Technic GmbH (D), and Dätwyler Electronics appeared under the name Maagtechnic Group. Maagtechnic Germany had already been in the Dätwyler enterprise as Fähnletechnic since 1998. Dätwyler Electronics AG came into being in 1998 from the merger of Basix AG and Fenner AG.

2007 Maagtechnic became international with the integration of the Revol Group (three locations in France and one in the Czech Republic).

2008 Maagtechnic becomes Shell Lubricants Distributor for Switzerland and expands there business in new markets.
